New Hospitals Under Construction in Phoenix

Construction is thriving across the state of Arizona, especially in the Phoenix area. In addition to new housing developments and retail spaces, new hospitals are part of the construction boom equation as well.

Most of the new hospital projects were announced late last year, but luckily, the pandemic has not put any of these projects on hold. Since Phoenix is growing so rapidly, the construction of these hospitals is being built to meet the needs of the demanding population. When more people live in an area, more healthcare is needed!

New Projects

The 6th hospital by HonorHealth is currently in the works, a 210,000 square foot building in the northern part of the valley titled the HonorHealth Sonoran Crossing Medical Center.

In addition, the Phoenix location of the Mayo Clinic is expanding by doubling its current size, with a projected cost of $648 million. The Phoenix Children’s Hospital is building a new 382,000 square foot tower for women and children at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center.

Dignity Health is also expanding by adding on 600,000 square feet across two of their current locations. Banner Ocotillo Medical Center in the east valley is also under construction adding 245,000 additional square feet as well as expanding their Sun City campus, with a $106 million project.

These are all full-service, large scale medical centers, which are going to be very beneficial for the growing population of Phoenix, which needs critical care.

As of now, things have been handled very well with all things considered. With the large developments of healthcare centers across Phoenix, it is just proof that construction is still booming in the valley of the sun.
